Mindful Beauty: Glow Naturally Inside Out

In today’s world, it’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of influencer trends. We forget to prioritise true self-care, the kind that’s not Instagrammable. At Hlamvu Life, we believe in the power of mindful beauty – nurturing your mind, body, and spirit. It’s important that it’s in a real authentic way though, not driven by mass-consumption that’s glamourised on social media. In our previous blogs, we provide DIY recipes and easy quick tips to elevate your natural beauty, using organic kitchen ingredients.

Remember, there is always room for personalisation in everything we say. This is about you, and our tips are only to support your journey, not dictate it. You’re in control!

The Mindful Beauty Connection

Mindful beauty is not about applying expensive creams and lotions while in deep thought about world hunger. It’s about loving yourself and your body enough to give it what it truly needs (while still thinking about world hunger!). Honestly though, it’s about recognising that true radiance comes from that inner natural glow you get when you truly love yourself. Acceptance is what helps you appreciate the gift of life you currently have and as a result, you do your best to nurture it. Practicing gratitude helps you see struggles in a different light. You see opportunities where you can make things better just by implementing small changes, starting with yourself.

Furthermore, if you have control over what you eat, what you wear and what you put on your body and hair, you are already immensely blessed. If you can read this blog, you have access to a world of knowledge. Be grateful for that and use it well! Then look around for what you can improve, within yourself or for those around you, or even better, both! For us, mindful beauty is being beautiful with your actions towards yourself and others.

For a Natural Glow

Bare in mind, with genuine love comes selectiveness and self-control. Therefore, by growing this kind of love in your heart, you can begin to take care of yourself and the environment around you. You do this by taking responsibility of what you choose to put on your skin and hair. Typically, the best standard is that what you cannot put in your mouth, you shouldn’t put on your skin. This is because your skin is an absorbing organ that can transport what you put on it right into your body. Hence the recent discoveries of microplastics and endocrine-disrupting chemicals entering the body through polyester clothing, fragrances, shampoos, the environment and other various products.

Yes, even the simplest things can be dangerous. However, please don’t start thinking that you should be able to put your clothes in your mouth as well. That’s not the point we’re making, and you know it! Just be mindful of the things you buy into. Look for things that have as many natural ingredients as possible and spend more time in clean environments. Be closer to nature. Even if it means building your own natural haven within the small space you live in.

A Mindful Combination

Seeking out natural clean ingredients and being in clean environments is the goal here. Less processed products and more natural combinations are best for you and the environment. This is good for you and those around you, very mindful isn’t it? Always remember that having the best life also includes having the best planet to live in. That’s the simplest way to put it. So being more critical of what’s in your beauty routine, and life routine in general, offers an opportunity of healthy benefits for everyone.

Scripture – Matthew 22:37-39  Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’
